Featured Pet of the Weekowen

Meet Charlie, a beautiful young male kitten. He is very playful and would enjoy a home where he can chase mice toys and take long naps in the window sill. His adoption fee is $75 which includes a microchip with registration and a $25 sterilization voucher that goes towards the cost of his neutering.

If you are interested in Charlie, or any other animals that may be up for adoption, please contact the Tri-City Animal Shelter & Adoption Center at (972)291-5335. The shelter is located at 1150 E. Pleasant Run Rd. in Cedar Hill.

In November 2006, the State of Texas officially granted the Friends of Tri-City Animal Shelter organization a 501 (c) (3) non-profit status. Within a year a Board consisting of a group of committed volunteers began to dedicate themselves to finding ways to enrich the lives of all animals passing through the Tri-City Animal Shelter.

Some of our accomplishments are:

 Annual events include: Smooches for Pooches Wine & Beer Tasting in February, a Garage Sale in April, our Gala in September and A Howl-O-Ween event in October.  We also sponsor a monthly adoption event at the shelter on the second Saturday of each month.

 Purchasing items for the animals that are not provided for in the Shelter budget. We have purchased toys and provided cages for off-site adoptions, as well as created a fund for specific medical services to make a shelter animal more adoptable.

 Assisting the shelter in off-site adoptions and providing the shelter with neck scarfs and doggie "jackets" for these adoptions.

 Speaking to City Boards and organizations within our three cities in order to share our message and our passion.

 We spearheaded the September 2009 & 2010 Gala to raise money for 'extras' at Tri-City Animal Shelter. Once again this year, the Gala was a great success!

 Fundraising efforts through collection jars at various "animal-related" locations, sale of pocket calenders and luggage tags, as well as the sale of greeting cards featuring shelter animals and designed by a professional animal photographer.
